Sun Safe Nursery

Little Chums has again been re-accredited as a 'Sun Safe' nursery by the Sun Safe Nursery organisation.  The accreditation demonstrates our commitment to maintaining the health and well-being of all children during sunny weather.

The scheme was developed by national skin cancer charity 'Skcin', to assist nurseries and pre-school settings in implementing a successful Sun Safety Policy whilst educating children to increase knowledge, influence behaviour and prevent skin cancer.

To help out, please ensure you have sent in some good quality SPF50 sun cream (labelled with your child's name) that is 'broad-spectrum' to provide both UVA and UVB protection.  If labelled with a UVA star rating, it is recommended to carry a minimum of 4 stars.

Please also send in a labelled sun hatSun hats should be either broad-brimmed (bucket style) or legionnaire to shade the face, neck, ears and cheeks. Baseball caps are not really recommended as they do not provide adequate shade.

Thank you for your cooperation and have a sun safe, skin safe summer!
