We use this system on the interactive whiteboards in Preschool to award ‘points’ or ‘dojo’s’ as a way of encouraging and rewarding good behaviour, cooperation with peers, independent work and so on. We use this system because the main school we feed, New Inn Primary, use this in their classes as well!
Although we publish edited photos online in our photo gallery and social media pages, we also use 'ClassDojo' to send unedited photos of children to parents on special occasions or when achieving a milestone of some kind. You can also see the 'dojo's' that have been awarded to your child(ren) as mentioned above.
Photos are sent using the built in 'chat' messaging system. This messaging system is used to send photos only and is not used to discuss children in any way. All messages about children must still be sent to the usual Little Chums email address. Any messages sent by parents via ‘ClassDojo’ are ignored and no responses sent.
The 'Class Dojo App' can be used online in a regular web browser. Please visit classdojo.com to sign up and/or login using the links in the top right corner of that page.
The 'ClassDojo App' can also be downloaded from both the Google Play or Apple App stores, depending on the device you use. Just search for ‘classdojo’ in the app store. Check before installation - the green monster app logo should be the same as that shown in the top right of this page!
Parents need to create an account (make sure you sign up as a parent!) using a personal email address which is then linked to their child using a code that we provide. All messages to upgrade to a ‘plus’ account should be IGNORED as we do not use this and it will be wasted money! Once logged in and linked to a child, photos will show up in the ‘chat’ section of the app.
Unfortunately, we do not offer support using this app, it will be up to parents to navigate it, but it is relatively straight forward! If some help is required, ‘ClassDojo’ have an online help system on their website. This can be accessed by clicking here...
A request to access the ‘ClassDojo’ system to receive photos of child(ren) means that parents understand that Little Chums is not responsible for the security of the online system and cannot be held liable for any issues encountered on personal devices either during installation or use. Parents will direct all data protection and privacy concerns to ‘ClassDojo’. Parents understand that access to this free system may be terminated at any point.
Please note, for security purposes we do not store any private information on the 'ClassDojo' system, other than a child’s name. The device used to administer the system never leaves the Little Chums premises.
To request access to this system, a declaration letter should be obtained from Preschool, read and signed and then returned, upon which a link code will be provided.
