Family Run
Little Chums is owned and run by a family who live in Pontypool - a real family business run by people who are passionate about childcare and education who have a combined experience of over 50 years, experience that includes Childcare Managers, Company Directors, responsibility for and managing Flying Start in Newport (26 settings) and being a fully qualified, experienced Primary school teacher holding various senior positions.

We provide a safe, warm, homely, secure, loving, modern and stimulating environment where children are free to explore, discover, develop and enjoy good health and wellbeing, with the support and care of our fully qualified staff.
At Little Chums, we firmly believe in the importance of providing an environment where children feel relaxed and confident while being encouraged to be independent learners who have a voice and feel valued.
Our policies and procedures are inclusive and value equal opportunities, where every child is treated with respect regardless of age, ethnicity or disability. We aim to accommodate children with additional needs to the best of our ability and endeavour to provide any additional support that is required to meet any range of needs.
Development and Learning
Everyday is carefully planned by our dedicated Childcare Manager to ensure that your child receives the best learning opportunities.
In conjunction with the Childcare Manager, our fully qualified and experienced teacher monitors the curriculum, activities and quality of the environment.
Dedicated Staff
Our childcare practitioners have been carefully chosen for their commitment towards caring for your precious little ones, as well as for their high levels of qualifications and training.
All qualifications and certificates are on display. All of our staff hold relevant qualifications, which consists of Level 5 in Childcare and Management, Level 4 Advanced Practise in Childcare, Level 3 in Childcare, Level 2 in Childcare, NNEB, Childcare & Education Level 3 or an equivalent qualification. Some staff are Welsh language trained.
We operate a ‘key worker’ system whereby your child is assigned a dedicated member of staff who is responsible for the day-to-day care of your child, including personal care.
